At Canmore Stays, we provide hosts with added peace of mind through our Host Damage Protection Program, designed to safeguard you when unexpected issues arise -including guest default- for bookings made through the Canmore Stays platform only.

Eligible Incidents

Canmore Stays may cover eligible damages directly caused by guests during a confirmed Canmore Stays booking, including damages resulting from guest default. Coverage applies to qualifying damages from $1,000 up to $100,000, or up to the deductible of any applicable insurance, whichever is lower. Normal wear and tear is not covered under this program.

Damages not directly attributable to a Canmore Stays guest—including maintenance issues, building defects, accidental leaks, system failures, or incidents unrelated to guest actions—are not covered by this program.

Primary Coverage First

If the unit’s own insurance or the building/strata insurance applies, those policies must respond first.

Deductible Protection

Where applicable, Canmore Stays may cover damages up to the insurance deductible, helping protect hosts from significant out-of-pocket expenses when damage originates from a guest-caused incident.

Documentation & Verification

To support transparency and accurate claims, each unit includes:

An after-cleaning video is recorded before every check-in
A 50-point checklist is uploaded to our system for every turnover

Right to Take Legal Action

Canmore Stays reserves the right to pursue legal action against guests in cases of malicious behavior, suspicious activity, or major damage.
