Getaway Cabin Ideal For Groups Exploring Rockies

Perfect location. Easy to get to Golden, Lake Louise, Columbia ice fields and so much more. Quiet and cozy with a fireplace and camp fire pit for roasting marshmallows. All round great experience

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is clean, lovely, well equipped and in a beautiful location, and overall everything was very good.The only thing is that the layout is perhaps not ideal for two adult couples. The sleeping area upstairs/mezzanine is completely open to the kitchen and living room, so there is no possibility of closing a bedroom door. This means that privacy and sleeping arrangements can be a little challenging when travelling as two couples.The cabin is probably better suited to a family with children who are old enough to manage the stairs and mezzanine safely. There is an open staircase, so it may not be ideal for very young children because of the risk of falls.This is not meant as a criticism of the cabin, but simply as information that might be useful to other guests. In hindsight, the layout can probably be seen from the pictures, but we mainly noticed “2 bedrooms” when booking, while the rest of the cabin looked so lovely that we didn’t look closely enough at the sleeping arrangements.Apart from these considerations, we had a very good stay.

Property is nice and clean. Good views of the mountains. Unfortunately cabins are 1/2 mile from railroad tracks and we could hear the freight trains as they honked their horns as they approached the road crossing. Yes, freight trains run during the night. 12:30, 2 ish and 5:30AM. If you’re a heavy sleeper may not wake you but it did wake us.

Cabin #1 - Based on the pictures we thought we had a beautiful view from our windows and deck. We were very disappointed once we arrived to see the view is of all of the other cabins, garage, fence for propane tanks, large log pile and the road. It was so very disappointing. I expressed this to management and they shared it was different because the pictures were taken in the winter. Once we walked through the door we noticed it was tidy, yet the coffee table is very beat up, and the chairs and couch very worn. The fridge has a missing handle. The sink upstairs drained very very slowly. The queen bed upstairs is sagging and worn. An old chair was shoved into the corner next to the bathtub. We ended up moving the two single beds to where the queen bed was and sleeping on them instead. The wifi password on the fridge does not work. We expressed much of this to the host, even requesting to leave early but if we did we would not get our money back. Request fresh towels early in your stay if you want them. The kitchen is nicely stocked for cooking. For the price with all the fees we feel it was high for what you get.

A lovely cabin in a lovely location. Comfortable and well-situated between Golden and Field with trails and sights within easy driving distance. A short drive from the highway and very quiet. Clean with complete household necessities. Tina, the host, always responded to emails quickly and thoroughly. I highly recommend this venue!
