Gateway Suites: Cozy stay to explore Banff/Canmore

It could have been much better if power issues sorted. Positive: I was warm and cozy. Well appointed. Negative: We were without power for 24 hrs which was very inconvenient. The managers/ owners were apologetic in full contact with us as they tried to rectify the issue, with 2 rooms that we know of. Apparently it is an old residence that has been refurbished. They gave us a reasonable cash back for our inconvenience. The location was a drive to any restaurant or food store. Food was prepared by guests at makeshift areas and the smells filled the residence. Appliances were provided but no crockery, cutlery or sink. A proper kitchen area with sink and exhaust fans would be more appropriate if they are to encourage self catering. No kettle for tea for the 3 days we there.
